The summer season is almost upon us and my usual yearning for ice cream increases. I enjoy ice cream year around, but for the summer months it’s the main dessert I look for almost every night. I blame my soft spot for soft serve on my family. My great grandfather enjoyed ice cream, my grandmother tried to convince us she was getting her dietary need of calcium from the bowl of ice cream she had every night. My mom brought that love of ice cream to our household and I have continued the trend. We have ice cream enough after meals that my 5 year old son has said we should start making our own and selling it. I’m not against that idea and have actually put together a list of flavors I would like to create. Some of these ideas are from brainstorming sessions with friends in years past and others are new ideas I’ve jotted down in my journal.
Now, I don’t think all of the ideas listed are going to taste good, or even get made, but I also figured why not write down everything that comes to mind because you never know what might be the perfect scoop.
Below is the list in progress. I haven’t started working on any of them yet, but I do expect to get started soon. When my son and I do begin to work on this list I’ll make sure to write about our experiences and how the ice cream turns out.
